## The short answer

Yes. At our 4 November 2026 check, www.unibet.co.uk was Active under Platinum Gaming Limited, whose UKGC account 45322 had Active Remote Casino permission. Its terms describe Medium Protection for customer funds. That is not a payment guarantee, and the operator’s £10 million regulatory penalty in 2025 is an important part of the assessment.

Original explanation based on Unibet’s GB terms checked 4 November 2026. The contract’s exceptions and withdrawal conditions are explained in the article.

## Which Unibet website and operator does this review cover?

This review concerns www.unibet.co.uk and casino customers in Great Britain. The Gambling Commission lists that exact address as Active under Platinum Gaming Limited, account 45322. The same account’s Remote Casino permission was Active when checked on 4 November 2026.

The customer contract identifies Platinum Gaming Limited as the contracting company. Its general terms also name Unibet, 32Red and Bingo.com as brands. The relevant permission, website and customer agreement must still be [checked together](https://howtocasino.uk/guides/how-to-check-casino-licence/index.md): a familiar logo or an unrelated site using the Unibet name does not establish that connection.

The terms distinguish customers located in Great Britain, covered by the Gambling Commission, from customers outside Great Britain, for whom they describe Gibraltar regulation. A foreign Unibet page, offer or payment list may therefore answer a different question. This is not a legal assessment of every territory in the UK or elsewhere.

## What does Unibet’s Medium Protection mean for your balance?

Section 9.12 of Unibet’s terms says it holds enough cash to cover account balances in company accounts and uses a bank guarantee to protect those balances. The operator describes this as the Gambling Commission’s Medium Protection level. That is the operator’s stated arrangement, not an independent audit of the guarantee by HowToCasino.

The Commission explains that Medium Protection involves arrangements intended to distribute customer money to customers if the business becomes insolvent, but there is no absolute guarantee of protection. It is also different from a decision about whether a particular withdrawal is payable under the account terms.

Money lost in ordinary gambling is not an outstanding account balance for the protection arrangement to reimburse. Nor does the label promise immediate access during identity checks or an investigation. Read the insolvency disclosure and the withdrawal conditions as separate parts of the decision.

## Which money limits matter before you deposit?

Three different amounts can appear in a casino review. A deposit minimum governs money going in; a withdrawal minimum governs a request to take cleared funds out; a winnings cap limits the award on a particular wager. One amount cannot be used as evidence for another.

| Amount or condition | What the checked terms establish | What it does not establish |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Deposit minimum | Section 9.6 directs customers to the Deposits help page for each method’s minimum and maximum. No current universal GBP deposit minimum was established in this review. | The £5 withdrawal figure is not proof of a £5 deposit minimum. |
| Standard withdrawal minimum: £5 | Section 11.4 publishes £5, or currency equivalent, and a support route for customers whose full balance is below that minimum. Bank or card restrictions may also apply. | A smaller remaining balance does not have to be increased to £5 to use the stated support route. |
| Winnings cap: £250,000 | Section 10.2 states a maximum for one wager or gameplay transaction across the listed gaming products, with exceptions for progressive-jackpot games and specifically advertised game or promotion terms. | It is not a daily withdrawal allowance, promised jackpot or standard minimum balance. |

For example, suppose you have £3 of cleared real money left and want to leave. The below-minimum clause says you can contact support to request the full balance. Verification and the other withdrawal conditions still apply; the example is not a completed £3 withdrawal test.

Check the game’s own rules as well as the general winnings clause. If a return appears wrong, retain the game name, round ID, stake, displayed award and applicable rule page. The amount shown on screen and the amount lawfully due are not resolved by a generic maximum-win headline.

## How do deposits and withdrawals work, and how long do they take?

The contract permits own-name debit-card funding and accepted online payment services. It mentions PayPal as an example, but this review did not verify a logged-in cashier or establish that every wallet mentioned in the terms is currently available to every account. Credit-card funding is excluded, including credit-card money routed through a wallet.

For withdrawals, section 11.2 describes returning funds to the debit card or online payment service originally used to deposit. Before relying on a method, check both the [deposit route and the return route](https://howtocasino.uk/guides/how-do-casino-debit-card-payments-work/index.md). A payment logo alone does not tell you the withdrawal destination or minimum.

- Payments into the account must be cleared and not reversed or charged back.
- Requested verification information must have been supplied and the checks completed.
- Legal or regulatory requirements may affect whether money can be released.
- The terms describe restrictions while relevant error, malfunction or prohibited-activity investigations are unresolved.

Unibet’s linked Help Centre returned an error in this public check. A reliable current per-method processing and delivery timetable was therefore not established. Do not interpret the general right to request cleared funds as a promise that they arrive instantly. Ask for the time allowed for approval and the separate receiving-provider transfer stage.

Sections 9.7 and 11.6 state no operator deposit charge and no withdrawal charge for the categories specified there: online payment services, UK debit cards and eligible international Visa cards. That does not rule out charges by your bank, a currency conversion charge or a restriction imposed by the receiving provider.

## Which account checks and restrictions should you expect?

You must be at least 18 and meet the permitted-territory and other eligibility conditions. The terms exclude self-excluded customers, including those using GAMSTOP, and people with certain previously restricted or closed group accounts. They also require accurate personal details and payment methods in your own name.

The duplicate-account section allows one account per brand and describes closing additional accounts and voiding associated promotional benefits or transactions. Do not read that in isolation from the eligibility and cross-brand restriction clauses. An existing restriction or self-exclusion is a reason to resolve your position with support, not to open another account.

Unibet says checks can cover age, identity, address, location, financial circumstances and source of funds, with restrictions while requested information is outstanding. The Commission also sets a limit on late document demands: a withdrawal must not trigger a request for information that the operator could reasonably have asked for earlier. New information required at that time by another legal obligation can still be sought.

If a request seems repetitive, ask what information is missing and why it is needed now, keep the response, and use the complaint route if necessary. Do not send identification through an unsolicited message or another website claiming to be the operator.

## What happened in Platinum Gaming’s regulatory cases?

The register records a decision dated 22 September 2025: a warning, a £10 million financial penalty and an additional licence condition for Platinum Gaming Limited. The Commission’s public news notice followed on 22 October 2025. These are different dates for the decision and its announcement.

The Commission found anti-money-laundering and customer-interaction failures during January 2023 to May 2024. Its announcement names unibet.co.uk and uk.bingo.com and describes requirements for independent audit and follow-up oversight. The £10 million is an operator-level penalty; it is not a pot of compensation available to every person who lost at Unibet.

There was an earlier case in March 2023. Platinum Gaming’s penalty was £2,937,599, while a separate £4,195,655 penalty concerned 32Red Limited. The headline combined the two at about £7.1 million. Attributing that whole total to Unibet would misstate the decision.

The current register check and the enforcement record answer separate questions. The Remote Casino permission was Active on 4 November 2026, while the sanctions remain relevant history. Neither an active licence nor the existence of a penalty determines the outcome of a particular player’s dispute.

## What should you check in the games and bonus terms?

Unibet’s Fair Gambling Policy describes supplier RNG and product testing and explains how to access game history. These are attributed public statements. We have not inspected testing-house reports for each installed game, played the catalogue or established a single RTP for the casino. Check the rules and RTP information for the exact game version you open.

The general terms incorporate individual game rules and separate promotional terms. A cash balance, promotional credit and unfinished [wagering requirement](https://howtocasino.uk/guides/what-are-wagering-requirements/index.md) can have different conditions. Read the qualifying payment method, eligible games, deadline, stake limit and withdrawal consequences for the exact offer before accepting it.

The promotional terms describe prohibited promotional play, including certain low-risk betting patterns and misuse of collectable features. This review does not activate or recommend a current offer, and a bonus amount is not included as money you can immediately withdraw.

For gambling controls, the operator’s safer-gambling page describes deposit controls, product blocks, breaks and self-exclusion. These tools serve different purposes. If you want to stop gambling, use the appropriate restriction rather than treating a deposit limit as a substitute for exclusion.

## Can an unused Unibet account incur a fee?

Section 18 describes an account unused for 12 consecutive months as inactive. A £5 monthly administration fee may apply, but the clause also requires notification, at least 30 days after the first notification and an attempt to return the balance to the last payment method before deductions start.

The terms say no further inactivity fees apply once the balance reaches zero. Do not reduce the rule to “£5 after a year” without its notice and attempted-return conditions. If you are leaving, request the remaining balance and account closure; you do not need to resume gambling to deal with the account.

## How do you make a complaint about Unibet Casino?

Raise a formal complaint with Unibet Customer Support and keep its reference number. Section 30 says it will endeavour to respond promptly and within eight weeks. If the complaint is unresolved to your satisfaction after eight weeks, the terms name eCOGRA as the independent, free alternative-dispute-resolution route.

- Identify the account and describe the issue, dates and amount being disputed.
- For a payment problem, include the transaction reference, method, request time and the stage the operator says is outstanding.
- For a game dispute, retain the exact title and version, round ID, stake and relevant rule or award screenshot.
- Keep the applicable terms, requested documents, replies and any final response or deadlock letter.

The Commission explains that a business should identify the appropriate ADR provider and may issue a deadlock letter at the end of its complaint process. The ADR provider decides whether it can accept the case; naming eCOGRA does not promise that every complaint is eligible or will succeed. Check its current submission instructions before sending documents.

If money remains unpaid, [our practical guide](https://howtocasino.uk/guides/what-to-do-if-a-casino-will-not-pay/index.md) explains how to organise the evidence and distinguish a pending check from a disputed refusal.

## What is the useful conclusion before registering?

- Use the exact GB address and check the current operator and Remote Casino permission.
- Read the Medium Protection disclosure and the regulator’s enforcement record alongside the licence.
- Confirm your own deposit minimum, withdrawal route and delivery conditions before sending money.
- Check account eligibility and any existing restriction or exclusion; keep your gambling limit separate from an offer’s qualifying stake.
- Save the terms relevant to your account, game and any promotion so that a later dispute has a clear record.

The review verifies the documented permission and explains material conditions; it does not award a safety score or promise a personal outcome.
