## The short answer

Yes. On 5 November 2026, www.williamhill.com was Active under WHG (International) Limited, with Active Remote Casino permission on UKGC account 39225. Its GB terms state Medium Protection for customer funds. That does not guarantee repayment or a trouble-free account; the operator also has regulatory actions on record.

## Which William Hill service does this review cover?

The licence check is for the online service at www.williamhill.com, whose registered operator is WHG (International) Limited. William Hill Vegas is a gaming label within the wider brand. A familiar shop name is not enough to identify an online contract: check the company and website in the footer, then [match both to the register](https://howtocasino.uk/guides/how-to-check-casino-licence/index.md).

| Check | Finding on 5 November 2026 |

Our review uses public documents. We have not opened an account, placed a bet, tested a withdrawal or contacted support. The checks below help assess the published service; they do not establish how an individual account will be handled.

## What are William Hill Casino’s deposit and withdrawal limits?

The published UK minima depend on the method. The figures below are ordinary payment thresholds, not amounts that qualify for a promotion. Published processing windows can be affected by account checks and bank handling.

| UK method | Minimum deposit | Minimum withdrawal | Published withdrawal window |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Debit card | £5 | £5 | Visa Direct: four hours; other cards usually 1–3 working days |
| Apple Pay | £5 | £5 | Immediate |
| Pay by Bank | £5 | £5 | Immediate to one working day |
| PayPal | £10 | £10 | One working day |
| Paysafecard | £10 | £25 by bank transfer | 3–5 working days by bank transfer |

Credit-card funding is excluded for UK customers, including through PayPal and Apple Pay. The separate £1 William Hill Plus deposit figure concerns in-shop cash, not a £1 online card deposit.

## Can you choose a different withdrawal method?

William Hill’s processing guidance says a withdrawal normally returns to the method that funded the account. If that route cannot receive withdrawals, a bank transfer may be needed. With several methods, the system considers net deposits: money deposited through each route less money already withdrawn through it.

> **A wallet logo does not guarantee a wallet payout**
>
> Check which funding route your account asks you to repay first. The available cash-out route can depend on your earlier deposits, even where the casino supports another method.

If a card has expired or your balance is below the usual minimum, the separate help page says to contact support about changing the route or withdrawing the full balance. Do not add money merely to reach a withdrawal threshold. Ask how to recover the existing balance.

## What does Medium Protection mean at William Hill?

The GB terms dated 30 September 2026 describe funds held on trust in a separate designated client account, rated Medium Protection. This is an insolvency arrangement, not a bank-deposit guarantee. Money moving through a third-party payment provider may not yet have reached that account, and repayment is not absolutely guaranteed.

Keep the distinctions clear when comparing casinos: permission to offer casino games, [the protection of a held balance](https://howtocasino.uk/guides/what-happens-if-an-online-casino-closes/index.md) and the speed of a particular payment answer three different questions. A positive finding in one column cannot settle the others.

## Why might William Hill ask for documents before a withdrawal?

The withdrawal help page lists changes of payment method and an inactive account among reasons for additional checks. It describes proof of payment ownership, photo identification and UK address or bank evidence issued within the previous three months. Use the secure route confirmed by the operator and follow its instructions for masking card details; never send a visible CVV.

The general right to check an account is not unlimited permission to postpone information requests. UKGC condition 17.1.1 says operators must not make withdrawal conditional on extra information they could reasonably have requested earlier. Other legal obligations can still require information at that point.

- Ask which check is outstanding and which document would satisfy it.
- Keep the date of the withdrawal, the document request and each reply.
- Use the complaint route if the explanation or handling remains disputed.

## What should you check in the games and welcome offer?

William Hill’s public live-casino page lists roulette, blackjack, baccarat and dealer-led poker formats. Check the exact game and table rules when opening the lobby: a category page is not evidence that every title, stake or table is available to every account.

Its casino-testing page describes independent software and RNG checks against each game’s specifications. That does not supply one meaningful RTP for the whole casino. Read the return figure and rule set for the version you actually open.

The general contract directs gaming winnings limits to the individual game rules. Promotional eligibility is governed separately by the offer terms. We have not verified a current welcome offer for this review.

- For a slot: check its exact edition, total stake, RTP disclosure and maximum payout rule.
- For a promotion: check eligible payment methods, qualifying stake, expiry, wagering and any winnings cap.
- Keep ordinary cash and promotional credit separate when deciding what can be withdrawn.

## What does William Hill’s regulatory history show?

There are material actions to consider alongside the active licence. On 7 August 2025, the Commission imposed an £82,687 financial penalty on WHG (International) Limited for a customer-identification failure involving accounts across group companies. The regulator also noted that the business identified and reported the breach, took remedial action and cooperated.

The separate March 2023 case concerned social-responsibility and anti-money-laundering failures. WHG (International) Limited agreed a £12.5 million regulatory settlement payment. The often-quoted £19.2 million total covered three businesses; it was not the amount assigned to this operator alone.

These are dated regulatory findings, not a prediction about a future payout. Equally, an active licence does not erase them. Read both the current permission and the actions when assessing the brand.

## Does William Hill charge an inactivity fee?

Its account-fee help page says a positive balance can attract a £3 monthly fee after 13 consecutive months of inactivity. William Hill says it will first attempt to return the balance and give at least 30 days’ notice after trying to contact you. The fee is taken on the 28th of the month and stops at zero; it is not charged to a linked payment method.

| Illustrative deduction | Opening balance | Fee | Balance left |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| First eligible monthly charge | £7.20 | £3.00 | £4.20 |
| Next month, still inactive | £4.20 | £3.00 | £1.20 |
| Next month, still inactive | £1.20 | £1.20 | £0.00 |

This example assumes the account has already met all inactivity, notification and return-attempt conditions. It is not a schedule counted from the day you registered. Request the remaining balance or arrange closure if you no longer want the account.

## How do you complain about William Hill Casino?

1. Contact Customer Service through the official Message Us route. Explain the issue and the outcome you want, and keep the reference.
2. If the response is unsatisfactory, escalate to second_opinion@willhill.com. William Hill’s UK procedure states acknowledgement within 24 hours and resolution within eight weeks.
3. For an unresolved eligible gambling-transaction dispute, use IBAS free of charge after the final response or the applicable eight-week complaint point. Keep the correspondence and transaction evidence.

The UK procedure uses IBAS. The eCOGRA route shown in the separate non-UK section should not be substituted for it. The regulator’s eight-week clock starts when the business first receives the complaint, including internal escalation. A reasonable pause can apply if a customer fails to cooperate promptly; escalation alone does not reset it.

The contact page advertises messaging support around the clock. That is a contact-availability statement, not a promise that every dispute or document check will be settled immediately.

## What is worth checking before you register?

| Useful published feature | Condition to weigh beside it |
| --- | --- |
| Published payment options | Choose the actual funding and return route before comparing headline speed. |
| Current licence and enforcement record | Read both when assessing the business. |
| External dispute process | Keep the records needed to use it. |

Start with the game or payment need that brought you here. Then compare the relevant route, rules and conditions across the casinos you are considering. Brand recognition and the number of advertised spins should not replace those checks.
