# Baccarat guides Canonical HTML: [Baccarat guides](https://howtocasino.uk/guides/baccarat/) Collection updated: 2026-11-03 Use our baccarat guides to understand scoring, third-card rules, Banker commission and payouts. Compare game formats, side bets and their settlement rules. In standard fixed-draw baccarat, Player and Banker are two hands: the one finishing closer to nine wins, and equal final totals are a Tie. A wager on a hand does not control its cards; the rules determine any third card. Other variants need their own drawing and settlement rules. Count only the final digit of a total. For example, 7 and 9 score 6; a queen and 8 score 8, because picture cards count zero. This is a scoring example. Use the full rules guide to follow a complete deal, any third card and settlement. ## Which baccarat question do you need answered? - [Learn the basic round](https://howtocasino.uk/guides/how-to-play-baccarat/index.md): Start with card values, the two hands, main wagers and the order of dealing. - [Check a third-card decision](https://howtocasino.uk/guides/baccarat-when-to-draw-a-third-card/index.md): Follow the fixed Player and Banker procedure, including naturals and the Banker matrix. - [Understand odds and payouts](https://howtocasino.uk/guides/baccarat-odds-and-payouts/index.md): Separate a hand’s chance of winning, profit odds, returned stakes and house edge. - [Check Banker commission](https://howtocasino.uk/guides/what-is-baccarat-commission/index.md): See what the deduction is based on and how it changes the cash returned. - [Compare table formats](https://howtocasino.uk/guides/what-is-mini-baccarat/index.md): Distinguish mini baccarat’s presentation from the exact dealing and payout rules. ## Follow a basic baccarat round Begin with card values, totals, drawing and the main wager settlement.
