Collection updated: 2026-11-03

Use our blackjack guides to understand card values, dealer rules, player actions and payouts. Compare table variations before applying a strategy.

Blackjack questions often start with a hand total but depend on a table rule: what the dealer must do, which player actions are allowed and how a qualifying win is paid. This collection separates those decisions so you can find the relevant rule.

Use the introductory guide for the sequence of a hand. For a particular variation or side wager, open its own explanation before transferring a rule or decision chart from another version.

## What changes between blackjack tables?

- Check dealer rules, including the treatment of soft 17, separately from the actions available to the player.

- Read the conditions for doubling, splitting and surrender. A familiar action name does not establish that it is available on every hand.

- Keep optional side-bet stakes and outcomes separate from the main hand. A main-hand win does not settle every wager the same way.
