## The short answer

Evolution’s Double Ball Roulette uses two balls on a single-zero wheel. An ordinary inside bet can win when at least one ball lands in its covered numbers; an outside bet such as Red needs both results to qualify. The payouts differ from ordinary roulette. The separate Red/Black wager needs one result of each colour, while special same-number wagers have their own conditions.

![For a Red wager, red 7 and red 19 qualify together; red 7 with black 20, or red 7 with zero, does not. Both balls must satisfy the selected Red condition.](https://howtocasino.uk/illustrations/double-ball-outside-qualification.png)

Original result diagram for Evolution’s documented single-zero model. The shown pockets are examples, not a probability model or a live result. Mixed colours belong to the separate Red/Black wager.

## Which Double Ball Roulette rules apply here?

This guide explains the Evolution live model using a wheel with thirty-seven pockets: zero and numbers one to thirty-six. The supplier describes a mechanical launcher releasing two balls. This is a different distinction from American double-zero roulette, which has both 0 and 00.

The complete published paytable consulted here is in Evolution’s supplier-authored rules, PDF pages 109–112, hosted by an operator outside GB. That establishes the identified rule model, not current British access, account limits or a particular deployed client. The supplier’s own product page confirms the named two-ball format.

Other two-ball products can use a different wheel and payout schedule. The [ordinary roulette guide](https://howtocasino.uk/guides/how-to-play-roulette/index.md) explains the usual one-result game. Our [single-zero versus double-zero comparison](https://howtocasino.uk/guides/single-zero-vs-double-zero-roulette/index.md) addresses wheel pockets; it should not be read as a two-ball rulebook.

## What changes when there are two results?

Each round supplies two ball results. Read the condition of each wager before deciding whether either result, both results or the same exact number is required. Counting two displayed numbers does not mean every usual roulette bet gets two independent ordinary settlements.

| Wager type | Documented winning condition | Example |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Ordinary inside coverage | At least one ball in the covered numbers | A split covering 17 and 20 has one covered result if the balls show 17 and 8. |
| Red | Both results red | 7 and 19 qualify; 7 and 20 do not. |
| One selected dozen | Both results in that same selected dozen | 4 and 11 qualify for first dozen; 4 and 22 do not. |
| Red/Black | One red result and one black result | 7 and 20 qualify; 7 and 19 do not. |
| Two balls on any number | Both results the same number | 17 and 17 qualify; 17 and 20 do not. |
| Two balls on selected number | Both results the particular selected number | For selected 17, only 17 and 17 qualify. |

Zero has no red or black colour and is outside the numbered dozens and columns. Red with zero does not satisfy Red, and black with zero does not satisfy Red/Black. A straight-up zero is a separate inside position; do not treat zero as an ordinary outside result.

## What do ordinary inside bets pay?

The following is the published ordinary inside table for this model. It is used below for cases where exactly one ball lands in the covered numbers. The supplier separately says an inside bet will “win double” when both balls land in its covered area; see the two-hit limitation below before using a cash calculation for that case.

| Ordinary inside bet | Numbers covered | Published payout ratio |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Straight-up | One | 17:1 |
| Split | Two | 8:1 |
| Street | Three | 5:1 |
| Corner | Four | 3.5:1 |
| Line / six-line | Six | 2:1 |

Coverage still matters. A street is a group of three numbers on the layout, and a corner covers the relevant four-number block. A racetrack neighbourhood and a full set of separately placed chips can contain several wagers; they should not be settled as if they were one simple inside position.

The [inside-and-outside guide](https://howtocasino.uk/guides/inside-and-outside-roulette-bets/index.md) explains those layout terms. Double Ball’s different winning condition and paytable must then be applied to the selected wager.

## How do one-hit inside payouts translate into money?

Assume one £2 wager, no side bets and exactly one ball in the wager’s covered area. A ratio such as 17:1 describes profit odds; add the original £2 stake once to obtain the total returned on a winning position. Do not describe £34 of profit as £34 returned.

| Hypothetical one-hit result on one £2 wager | Profit | Total returned |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Straight-up at 17:1 | £2 × 17 = £34 | £36 |
| Split at 8:1 | £2 × 8 = £16 | £18 |
| Street at 5:1 | £2 × 5 = £10 | £12 |
| Corner at 3.5:1 | £2 × 3.5 = £7 | £9 |
| Six-line at 2:1 | £2 × 2 = £4 | £6 |

If neither ball reaches the covered numbers, the £2 wager loses and returns zero. These examples concern one position. If you placed other losing positions as well, subtract all the round’s stakes when calculating the net round result.

> **The published two-hit shorthand is incomplete for a cash ledger**
>
> The consulted Evolution wording says an ordinary inside bet wins double when both balls hit its covered area, but does not clearly state the doubled-profit versus returned-stake convention. We do not invent a £ result for that branch or import one from a different supplier’s two-ball game. Check the selected client’s detailed settlement rule.

## What do outside and special bets pay?

| Wager | Required result | Published payout ratio |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Selected column or selected dozen | Both balls in the selected group | 8:1 |
| Red, Black, Even, Odd, 1–18 or 19–36 | Both balls satisfy that selected condition | 3:1 |
| Red/Black | One red and one black | 1:1 |
| Two balls on any number | Both balls on the same number | 35:1 |
| Two balls on selected number | Both balls on the exact selected number | 1300:1 |

A winning £2 Red wager at 3:1 gives £6 profit and £8 returned. One red and one black result instead loses that Red wager. If you had separately staked £2 on Red/Black, that different wager would return £4 at 1:1 in the mixed-colour case.

A winning £2 selected-dozen wager at 8:1 gives £16 profit and £18 returned. A first-dozen ball and a second-dozen ball do not create a half win on a wager that requires both balls in the first dozen.

The 1300:1 headline belongs to the separate exact selected-number condition. It is not the ordinary straight-up payout whenever just one ball lands on that number. Likewise, the any-number wager is about matching ball results, not merely covering every pocket with an ordinary straight-up chip.

## Can both balls finish on the same number?

The documented special bets expressly allow a same-number result. They distinguish any matching number from a specific number selected in advance. If both results are 17, an any-number matching wager meets its condition, and a selected-17 matching wager meets its own condition. A selected-20 matching wager does not.

A £2 winning any-number matching wager at 35:1 would give £70 profit and £72 returned. A £2 winning selected-number matching wager at 1300:1 would give £2,600 profit and £2,602 returned. These are arithmetic illustrations of two different special wagers, not statements of available stakes, typical results or ordinary two-hit inside settlement.

Do not infer the frequency of a same-pocket result from the payout alone. The guide does not assume independent ball outcomes or derive odds by squaring ordinary roulette probabilities. A mathematical model needs evidence about the exact process as well as the pocket count.

## Does two-ball roulette make a betting system reliable?

Two results change the conditions and payouts; they do not make a progression a guarantee. A Red wager can lose despite one red result, so an ordinary roulette staking sheet can also describe the wrong qualifying event for this game.

The number of red results on a recent history display does not show that the next round must supply two reds together. Increasing stakes after losses also increases the amount exposed to another loss. Our [betting-systems guide](https://howtocasino.uk/guides/do-roulette-betting-systems-work/index.md) explains why a desired recovery amount does not establish that a qualifying win will arrive.

## What should you verify before using a payout example?

- Confirm the supplier, exact game and single-zero wheel rather than relying on the words double ball.
- Match the wager’s label and covered numbers, including whether it requires one or both results.
- For an ordinary inside wager with two covered hits, obtain the explicit cash-settlement convention from that client.
- Read the current payout table, chip units, maximums and any rounding provisions.
- For a disputed round, keep both ball results, all placed wagers and the round reference.
- Check the GB operator’s permission separately; a supplier page or foreign-hosted rulebook does not establish British game access.

The [roulette-limits guide](https://howtocasino.uk/guides/how-do-roulette-minimums-and-maximums-work/index.md) distinguishes a chip on one position from the total amount committed across the layout. That distinction still applies when the round has two ball results.

## Related questions

### Is Double Ball Roulette the same as double-zero roulette?

No. This guide covers Evolution’s two-ball game on a single-zero wheel. Double-zero refers to a wheel with 0 and 00, not the number of balls.

### Does Red win if just one ball is red?

Not in the documented model. Both balls must be red for the Red wager. One red and one black belongs to the separate Red/Black wager.

### What does a straight-up bet pay in Double Ball Roulette?

The published ordinary inside table lists 17:1. The money examples here cover exactly one hit. The supplier describes two covered hits as winning double but does not fully clarify its stake-return convention in the consulted text.

### What is the 1300:1 bet?

It is the separate wager requiring both balls to land on the exact number selected in advance. It is not the ordinary straight-up payment for a single matching ball.

### What happens to an outside bet when a ball lands on zero?

Zero is not red or black and is outside the numbered dozens and columns. It therefore prevents Red, Black, Red/Black, or a selected dozen or column from meeting its stated colour/group condition. Special same-number wagers have separate conditions.

### Can I use these rules for every two-ball game?

No. Wheel designs, payouts and settlement conventions can differ. This is an identified Evolution rule-model explanation; current GB account access and a specific deployed client were not verified.
