## The short answer
Hot 3 is an optional blackjack side bet on your original two cards and the dealer’s face-up card. In the documented 100/20/4/2/1 model, a total of 19, 20 or 21 can win, with special awards for a suited 21 and three sevens. Later hits, the dealer’s hidden card and the main hand’s final result do not change those original three cards.
Original wager ledger. Assumes the documented 4:1 unsuited-21 Hot 3 award and an ordinary £5 main-hand loss, with no other stakes.
## Which cards count for Hot 3?
Use your first two player cards and the dealer’s one face-up card. That is one three-card side-bet result, not your eventual blackjack hand and not the dealer’s completed hand. The stake is placed for that initial result; a later hit is not a chance to replace an unhelpful Hot 3 card.
For example, player 9♥ and 3♣ with dealer 9♦ makes a Hot 3 total of twenty-one. The player’s own blackjack hand is only twelve at that point. If the player subsequently hits a king and busts on twenty-two, the original side-bet total remains twenty-one.
The payout model below is published on Virgin Games’ GB Free Bet Blackjack page and corroborated in Evolution’s supplier-authored game rules. Those sources establish the stated side wager. They do not make Free Bet’s main rules the main rules of every game offering Hot 3.

## How are picture cards and aces scored?
For the original Hot 3 scoring model, number cards use their face value, tens and picture cards count as ten, and an ace can count as one or eleven using ordinary blackjack-style totals. Choose an ace value that avoids exceeding twenty-one where possible. It is not a wild card that can become any needed number.

A low-looking ace combination and a pair of picture cards should therefore be totalled before judging the side wager. The dealer’s upcard is part of this sum even when it is not part of the player’s main hand.

## What is the documented Hot 3 paytable?

A published ratio of 4:1 is four pounds of profit per pound staked, plus the original pound returned. It is not a total return of four pounds. A nineteen paying 1:1 therefore returns £2 from a £1 stake.
The three-sevens example can be 7♥, 7♣ and 7♦: it meets the special seven-seven-seven row despite mixed suits. A♥, 4♥ and 6♥ instead meets the suited-twenty-one row. Use the applicable category; do not add the generic twenty-one award to a special payout as though each were another separate wager.
Read the selected client for any additional variant, category precedence or cap, especially if its headings differ. The table is an identified published schedule, not evidence that every casino or blackjack title uses it.

## Can Hot 3 win when the main hand loses?
Yes. Return to player 9♥ and 3♣ with dealer 9♦. The original three cards total an unsuited twenty-one and satisfy the 4:1 row. A later player king makes the main total twenty-two. That bust does not turn the original three-card result into thirty-one.

The side bet won, but the two-wager round still lost money overall. “Hot 3 win” and “profitable round” describe different things. Count every stake committed before subtracting it from all returns.
The reverse can also happen. With player A♠ K♦ and dealer 7♣, the side-bet total is eighteen and loses. If the main game pays that winning natural at 3:2, a £5 main stake returns £12.50. With a separate losing £1 Hot 3 stake, £6 was committed and the combined profit is £6.50. The 3:2 assumption belongs to the main-game rules, not to Hot 3.

## Do hitting, standing or splitting change Hot 3?
They do not replace the initial cards used for this side-bet result. A fourth player card, the dealer’s hidden card or a later dealer draw belongs to subsequent main-hand play. Do not add those cards into Hot 3 to rescue a total of eighteen or create a different twenty-one.
Splitting the main hand can create separate main wagers, but the original Hot 3 selection remains the original two player cards plus the upcard. That does not authorise multiplying a side-bet award by the eventual number of split hands.
Follow the actual game’s timing and settlement record if an award is displayed later. A delay in the animation does not redefine which three cards qualify. If a result looks wrong, record those three original cards before collecting screenshots of later hands.

## Is Hot 3 the same as 21+3 or Lucky Lucky?
No. The names do not identify interchangeable conditions. Hot 3 in this model looks at blackjack-style totals of the original three cards and its special combinations. A 21+3 wager instead assesses a three-card poker combination; Lucky Lucky uses another published set of total and special-combination rules.
A three-card total of twenty-one can be unremarkable for a poker-combination wager and a winner under Hot 3. Likewise, a poker flush whose point total is outside the Hot 3 range should not be treated as a winning Hot 3 flush merely because all suits match.

## Does the 100:1 award make Hot 3 a better main game?
The top payout alone does not supply its probability, an overall RTP or a comparison with another wager. Main-hand and side-bet returns have different conditions. A table’s main blackjack percentage should not be applied to a combined stake containing Hot 3.
A 100:1 maximum row is also not a session target that becomes more likely because it has not appeared recently. Past losses do not create a guaranteed future three-sevens result. Increasing a side stake after losses increases the amount exposed to another non-qualifying deal.

## How can you check a Hot 3 payment?
1. Confirm that the optional wager was actually placed and accepted before the deal.
2. Record the original two player cards and the dealer’s upcard, including suits.
3. Calculate the side-bet total using the applicable ace rule.
4. Identify the correct special or ordinary row in that client’s table.
5. Multiply the side stake by its profit ratio, then include the returned stake once if it wins.
6. Add all main and optional stakes separately when checking the complete round result.
Keep the round reference and ask the operator for its recorded settlement if those figures do not agree. A main-hand screenshot taken after several hits can hide the original cards that determine this side wager.
