First identify the stage

Pending usually means the request has not completed the operator’s process, but status labels vary. Approved or sent may mean it has moved to a payment provider; that does not always mean the funds have arrived.

  • Record the request time, amount and transaction reference.
  • Check the published processing policy, including working days.
  • Ask whether the request is awaiting review, information or payment settlement.
  • Keep the operator’s written response if the stated timescale has passed.

Verification is not a blanket excuse for delay

The Gambling Commission says businesses should not defer age and identity requests until withdrawal if the information could have been requested earlier. Further checks can nevertheless be necessary to meet legal obligations.

That distinction matters: neither ‘all checks are forbidden at withdrawal’ nor ‘every delay is acceptable’ is a sound conclusion.

If the explanation is unclear

Ask the operator to identify the outstanding action and its complaints procedure. Follow that process rather than making another deposit to try to release a withdrawal.
