What the percentage means
Imagine a game with a theoretical RTP of 96%. Across a very large volume of play, its mathematical model returns an average of £96 for every £100 in total stakes. That is an illustration of the model, not an offer or a personal result.
Total stakes include money won and then staked again. A £20 deposit is not the same thing as £20 of turnover. Reusing the same balance can create much more turnover than the original deposit.
What RTP cannot tell you
- It does not mean you will recover 96% of a deposit.
- It does not tell you when a win will happen.
- It does not make a losing game due to pay out.
Where to check a game’s RTP
Open the help, information or paytable inside the exact game version available at the casino. A figure in an older review may refer to another configuration. Check whether the stated return includes optional features or a jackpot component.
RTP and volatility answer different questions: RTP describes the long-run return, while volatility describes the spread of possible outcomes. Neither removes the risk of loss.
