Which Razor Shark does this explain?

This is Push Gaming’s original Razor Shark, with five reels, four visible rows and twenty paylines. Razor Returns, Razor Ways and Razor Shark Jackpots are separate titles. Match the full name before using another game’s symbol rules or screenshots to check a result.

A Mystery Stack is a block of four covered seaweed symbols. Its reveal determines the symbols used in the next rule step; the block is not itself a displayed cash balance. Ordinary payline awards and Golden Shark prizes use different conditions.

The payline guide explains why several matching symbols on one reel are different from matching symbols across a winning route.

What happens after a Mystery Stack lands?

StageWhat changesWhat still needs checking
A Mystery Stack appearsFour mystery symbols start the Nudge & Reveal feature.A covered position does not yet tell you its final symbol or award.
The stack moves and revealsThe stack can show matching regular symbols or Golden Sharks. An ordinary symbol reveal still needs a qualifying payline.
An ordinary line qualifiesIts award follows the selected stake and the game’s paytable.Count the actual winning lines; four revealed cells are not automatically four wins.
Golden Sharks appearThey start Razor Reveal, with small reels showing prizes or Scatters.Read each prize’s unit and keep the Scatter trigger separate.

The supplier calls the first process Nudge & Reveal and the Golden Shark process Razor Reveal. Those names describe two linked stages, not two names for the same cash payment. BetUK describes the stacks moving one position down on successive spins and revealing a matching symbol each time.

A new symbol can complete a line that did not win before the reveal. It can also leave the layout without an eligible line. In that case the ordinary-symbol part of this evaluation can pay nothing. That conclusion does not rule out a separate prize, Scatter award or another line elsewhere in the result.

Why a four-high reveal does not mean four paid lines

Imagine a stack on reel three reveals four matching ordinary symbols. Those four positions are all on one reel. They do not, by themselves, make a combination across four different reels. The line paths and the matching symbols on the other reels decide which awards qualify.

Hypothetical result after revealingOrdinary-symbol outcomeReason
Four matching symbols on reel three, with no qualifying line through themNo payment from those symbols under the assumed result.A whole-reel match is not the same condition as a winning payline.
A revealed position completes one eligible linePay that line’s calculated award. The reveal supplies a symbol to the line; it does not add a separate four-times factor.
Several distinct eligible lines pass through revealed positionsUse the game’s line-by-line breakdown.Multiple lines can share positions, so neither a symbol-cell count nor a reel count establishes the number paid.

For a cash example, assume the selected stake and hypothetical paytable have already produced a 30p award for one eligible line after a reveal. Assume no other winning line, feature factor, cap or rounding adjustment. The payment for that isolated line is 30p, not 30p × four mystery symbols = £1.20 and not 30p × twenty available paylines = £6.

The 30p is an invented cash input, not a quoted Razor Shark paytable value or a played round. If you start instead with a paytable multiple, first identify its stake base. Once a readout is already a cash award, applying the stake again would mix different units. The credits and coins guide explains that distinction.

How do Golden Shark prizes differ from line wins?

Golden Sharks start Razor Reveal. The supplier describes the mystery positions becoming mini-reels with immediate stake-multiple prizes or Scatters. This is a separate payment mechanism from lining up ordinary symbols. A large-looking stack does not establish which results its mini-reels will reveal.

For an illustrative base-game calculation, assume a 20p total stake and two mini-reels showing prizes of 2× and 5× that stake. Isolate those two prizes: assume no additional feature factor, cap or rounding adjustment, and exclude every other prize or line award from this example.

Prize inputConversion onceCash value
2× the assumed 20p stake2 × £0.20£0.40
5× the assumed 20p stake5 × £0.20£1.00
These two prizes together(2 + 5) × £0.20£1.40

Do not use 2 × 5 × 20p = £2 here: the two displayed values describe separate prizes, not instructions to multiply those prizes together. Nor should the £1.40 already expressed in pounds be multiplied by the stake a second time.

A mini-reel can show a Scatter rather than a prize multiple. Assess that symbol under the Scatter rules; do not assign it a made-up coin value to complete this ledger. The published rules allow Scatters from Razor Reveal to contribute to the Free Games trigger.

The £1.40 is the credit for the two assumed base-game prizes only. A settled spin or feature total may also contain other awards. Adding a component to a total that already includes it would count the same money twice.

What changes in Free Games, and when do they end?

The current supplier page and GB descriptions use three or more Scatters to trigger Free Games. Reels two and four start with Mystery Stacks. Their movement raises a win multiplier, while the stacks continue to reveal symbols. BetUK describes the feature ending when no Mystery Stacks remain in view.

The important state is whether a stack remains, rather than a promise of a fixed number of winning spins. Extra Scatters can enhance the feature; the supplier describes starting the stacks higher when entering with additional Scatters. Use the actual stack positions, counter and information panel for the result in front of you.

A higher factor changes an eligible award; it does not create a qualifying line or a prize. For a separate hypothetical comparison, assume a 30p line award before the feature factor and a displayed factor of 3×. That line contributes 90p. If the line award is £0, £0 × 3 remains £0. These are alternative examples at an assumed factor, not a prediction of the next nudge or spin.

Push Gaming’s announcement of 3 September 2019 describes the Free Games multiplier applying to line wins and instant Razor Reveal awards. Its current product page also describes a factor on wins. When checking a live result, establish whether the amount in the history is before or after that factor; a final cash value must not receive it again.

The public descriptions do not provide the event probabilities needed to calculate how many spins your feature should last. A remaining stack, an earlier missed Golden Shark or a low-paying bonus cannot establish when a larger payment will follow.

What should you save if a reveal seems to pay the wrong amount?

  1. The exact title and casino, plus the round reference and time.
  2. The selected stake, whether the round was base play or Free Games, and any active feature factor.
  3. The positions and symbols after the reveal, including the marked winning line or lines.
  4. For Razor Reveal, each mini-reel’s prize value or Scatter result and the units used.
  5. The settled spin or feature total, so that a component is not added twice.
  6. The information-panel rule and any error, cap or adjustment message relevant to that round.

Ask the operator to explain the particular step that differs: the revealed symbol, line eligibility, prize conversion, feature factor or final credit. Our wrong-payout guide explains how to present that evidence and distinguish an apparent game calculation from an account-balance adjustment.

This guide uses the supplier’s current product description, a dated supplier explanation and public GB game pages checked on 5 November 2026. We did not open an account or play a round. Those descriptions do not verify an individual account’s installed RTP, stake menu, award limit or current access. For a result whose help panel differs, retain that exact rule set rather than substituting a foreign demo or a sequel’s figures.

Related questions

Does a whole reel of mystery symbols guarantee a win?

An ordinary-symbol reveal still needs an eligible payline. Four matching cells on one reel are not a combination across four reels. Golden Sharks have a separate Razor Reveal prize mechanism.

Can Golden Sharks award Scatters instead of cash prizes?

Yes. The supplier and BetVictor describe Razor Reveal mini-reels showing stake-multiple prizes or Scatters. Keep the Scatter trigger check separate from a ledger of coin prizes.

Does a bigger Free Games multiplier guarantee a payment?

No. It increases an eligible award; it does not create the line or prize that qualifies. Read the final round history to establish whether the displayed cash already includes the factor.

Does this guide also cover Razor Returns?

No. This is the original Razor Shark by Push Gaming. Related titles have their own rules; a matching theme or series name does not establish the same mechanic.
