Is Football Studio a card game or a football bet?
The original live Football Studio is a Top Card game from Evolution. Home and Away name two card positions; they do not identify actual clubs. The football backdrop, conversation and match information do not make the card result depend on a football fixture.
BoyleSports describes one face-up card for each side from an eight-deck shoe. You choose the bet before the cards decide the round, rather than choosing whether to draw more cards afterwards. Knowledge of a team’s form does not determine which card rank is dealt.
| Name | What establishes the result | Which rules to read |
|---|---|---|
| Football Studio, live card game | One card rank on each side. | The card rules explained here. |
| First Person Football Studio | An RNG recreation of the card game. | Its own Help and interface conditions. |
| Football Studio Dice | Two dice totals on each side, four dice overall. | Separate dice rules, including result-dependent draw awards. |
Evolution announced the First Person recreation on 14 May 2020. Its Football Studio Dice page explicitly replaces the cards with four dice. A guide or screenshot using dice payouts therefore cannot settle a question about the original two-card game.
How are the cards ranked and which bet wins?
The published card rules use eight standard decks without Jokers. Ranks run from 2 at the bottom through 3–10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace at the top. Compare ranks, not blackjack point values: a King beats a Queen, and an Ace beats a King.
| Home card | Away card | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Ace | King | Home wins. |
| 10 | Queen | Away wins. |
| 7 of hearts | 7 of clubs | Draw: the ranks match. |
| King | King | Draw, including when the suits differ. |
Betting closes before the result is dealt. Once the round is settled, a previous Home or Away label on the history board does not change the ranking rule for the next comparison. Keep the winning side distinct from whether your own selected bet won.
Dragon Tiger also compares card ranks, but a similar layout does not make every tie payout identical. Use its separate explanation when that is the actual game name.
How much comes back on a Draw?
A Draw has two different settlements. A Home or Away bet receives half its stake back and loses the other half. A separately placed Draw bet wins at 11:1. The first is a partial return; the second is a winning wager.
| One illustrative £10 bet | What happens | Money credited | Net result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Home bet, Home wins | 1:1 profit plus stake returned | £20 | £10 profit |
| Home bet, Away wins | The bet loses | £0 | £10 loss |
| Home bet, Draw | Half of the stake returns | £5 | £5 loss |
| Draw bet, Draw | 11:1 profit plus stake returned | £120 | £110 profit |
| Draw bet, either side wins | The Draw bet loses | £0 | £10 loss |
These examples isolate one accepted £10 cash wager and assume no cap, fee, rounding adjustment or promotional condition. The £120 winning Draw credit is £110 profit plus the original £10. It is not £110 credited in total.
Half back is different from an ordinary push, which returns the whole relevant stake. It is also different from choosing to surrender a hand: the Draw settlement follows the dealt result without a further surrender decision.
What if I have both a Home bet and a Draw bet?
Read each wager first, then combine their money results. For a hypothetical round, assume the table accepts £10 on Home and £1 on Draw together. The total stake is £11. This is an arithmetic example, not a recommendation or confirmation that every operator permits that combination.
| Round result | Return on £10 Home | Return on £1 Draw | Total credited | Net after £11 staked |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Home wins | £20 | £0 | £20 | £9 profit |
| Away wins | £0 | £0 | £0 | £11 loss |
| Draw | £5 | £12 | £17 | £6 profit |
On a Draw the £5 is the half-return of the main stake, while the £12 is the Draw bet’s £11 profit plus its £1 stake. Add them once: £5 + £12 = £17. Then subtract the full £11 wagered to obtain £6 profit.
This layout still loses all £11 if Away wins. Adding a Draw chip changes both the cost and the settlements; it does not remove the house edge or guarantee recovery. The current table and bonus conditions can also restrict combinations, so a permitted calculation is not proof of a permitted bet.
Why is Home or Away not a simple 50:50 bet?
A Draw is a third possible result, and the half-stake loss on that result matters. Consider a fresh eight-deck shoe with all 416 cards present, no Jokers, and two cards drawn without replacement. This model excludes earlier dealt or removed cards and any different shoe procedure.
There are 32 cards of each rank. Once the first card is known, 31 of the remaining 415 cards share its rank. The Draw probability is therefore 31/415, about 7.47%. By symmetry, Home and Away each win on 192/415, about 46.27%.
| Wager in this full-shoe model | Expected net calculation per £1 staked | Theoretical return including stake |
|---|---|---|
| Home or Away | Equal win/loss probabilities cancel; Draw costs ½ × 31/415 = about 3.73p. | About 96.27%. |
| Draw at 11:1 | 12 × 31/415 − 1 = about −10.36p. | About 89.64%. |
The Draw pays more when it wins, but its higher profit odds do not make it a better return in this model. These are long-run mathematical averages, not a forecast that a particular £1 bet returns 96p or that a session will lose exactly 3.73%.
Actual remaining-card composition can differ from this fresh-shoe assumption. A history of H, A and D labels does not provide that complete composition or establish a reliable next-round prediction. A Bet Statistics percentage for Home describes the share of bets placed there, not the probability that Home wins.

What should I check before relying on a guide?
- Match the full title: the live card game, First Person and Football Studio Dice are separate products.
- Read the rank order, Home/Away payout and exact Draw settlement in that game’s Help.
- Check the accepted bet amount and total round stake, rather than only a selected chip denomination.
- Use the current table’s limits and RTP information; a published page does not establish your installed configuration.
- For a disputed result, retain the round ID, both card ranks, accepted wagers, applicable Help and credit history.
If the credit does not reconcile, the wrong-payout guide explains how to show the operator the separate stakes and returns. It is more useful than a screenshot showing only that the round ended in a Draw.
Research note: the rule explanation uses public own-operator documents and supplier product distinctions checked on 5 November 2026. The full-shoe calculations are our stated mathematical model. We did not place a bet, test a payment, open a demo or establish current GB operator availability. No live-table limit or guaranteed return is inferred.

Does an Ace count as one or eleven in Football Studio?
Neither blackjack convention decides the comparison. In the published Football Studio card rules, Ace is the highest rank, above King.
Do matching ranks with different suits make a Draw?
Yes. The rank comparison determines the result: two sevens make a Draw even if their suits differ. Under the cited card rules, a main Home or Away bet then gets half back.
Can I use Football Studio Dice payouts for the card game?
No. Football Studio Dice compares two-dice totals and has its own draw awards. The original card game compares ranks and pays a winning Draw bet at the stated 11:1 profit odds.
