Does reload mean any bonus after the first deposit?

Reload is promotional terminology, rather than a standard contract with one set of rules. A deposit match is one possible structure: the operator calculates a credit from an eligible deposit, subject to a cap. A free-spin allocation or another stated reward can use different conditions and units.

Coral’s operator news used reload for a deposit-linked top-up in a post dated 30 March 2023. That is historical evidence of the term’s use; its percentages, weekdays and eligibility are not presented here as a current offer. This guide does not maintain a list of available reload deals.

LabelQuestion to resolve
Later welcome-bonus instalmentIs this still part of the original new-customer offer?
Separate reload promotionWhich later deposit, window and activation terms qualify?
Returning-player rewardDoes it depend on a deposit, qualifying play, selection or something else?
Loyalty benefitIs the value earned under a points or membership programme?

A second-deposit instalment can belong to the welcome package rather than a separate reload. Cashback usually uses a stated loss or staking calculation; a loyalty reward follows its own earning rules. The name alone cannot establish which amount is cash or how much has to be staked.

Why might an existing customer not qualify?

Existing-customer status is only one possible condition. Read the named service, permitted country, eligible account, qualifying payment methods, dates and any invitation requirement. A public page or a friend’s account screenshot does not establish that the same promotion has been made available to you.

Sky Vegas’s published Choose Your Reward help illustrates this distinction: it describes selected adult customers, an eligible-account tile, opt-in and qualifying cash stakes. It is a returning-player example, not evidence of a deposit-match reload or an offer available in every account. We have not inspected a customer account or tested a reward.

  • Identify the exact promotion and save its significant conditions before relying on the headline.
  • Check whether activation must happen before the relevant deposit or qualifying play.
  • Check whether the eligible payment method, amount and time window match the actual transaction.
  • Check whether the reward is credited automatically or requires a further permitted selection or claim.

There is no universal rule that a code entered after a deposit repairs missed eligibility. The bonus-code and opt-in guide separates entering a code, qualifying and receiving the reward. If a condition is unclear, ask the operator to explain it before committing money; another deposit does not resolve the uncertainty.

How do you calculate a capped reload match?

Use these invented terms solely to demonstrate the arithmetic: a 50% match, capped at £15 bonus credit, for an otherwise eligible deposit. The calculation is the smaller of half the eligible deposit and £15. A real promotion could use a different structure; these figures are not current offers or recommended deposits.

Invented eligible deposit50% calculationRestricted bonus credit after cap
£10£5£5
£30£15£15
£40£20£15

For the £40 case, the £15 award is promotional credit. It does not turn £40 of your money into £55 of unrestricted cash, and it is not £15 profit. An account may show both balances, but each amount retains its own conditions. Depositing more above the cap does not increase this fictional match.

A headline such as up to £15 also does not tell you the minimum qualifying deposit, expiry or whether the bonus itself is cashable. Those are separate terms. If a condition fails and no award is earned, the calculation does not create a right to £15.

What happens to the deposit, bonus and wagering target?

Suppose the fictional £15 award has 8× wagering on bonus funds only. The target is £15 × 8 = £120 in qualifying stakes. It is not £120 of deposits, a required £120 loss, or a promise that money will remain at the end. Do not calculate 8 × £55 by silently adding the £40 deposit to the bonus base.

Amount or measureWhat it represents
£40 own depositCustomer funds, separately identified from the award
£15 bonus creditPromotional funds under the invented conditions
£120 qualifying-stakes targetTurnover credited under those conditions, not a cash balance
Actual game returnsUncertain settlement amounts; neither the match nor target predicts them

The current GB rewards-and-bonuses code caps a bonus-fund wagering requirement at 10 times and prohibits combining more than one gambling-product type within an incentive. Betting, casino, bingo and lottery are the relevant product categories; two different slot titles are not automatically two product types.

UKGC guidance requires own-deposit and bonus balances to be shown separately, rather than as an indistinguishable pot. Remaining deposit funds and winnings from your own money must be withdrawable without completing a bonus wagering target, subject to general regulatory obligations. This does not promise instant payment or remove legitimate account checks.

The wagering-requirements guide explains qualifying turnover. A sticky or non-cashable award concerns whether the promotional credit itself can be withdrawn, which is a different condition from completing a target.

Which terms matter beyond the headline percentage?

  • Calculation base: eligible deposit, qualifying stakes, allocated spins or another clearly stated measure.
  • Reward form: cash, restricted bonus credit or a specified spin allocation and its settlement rules.
  • Eligibility and activation: account selection, payment exclusions, offer code or opt-in, and required order.
  • Use conditions: eligible games, contribution, permitted bonus-funded stakes, expiry and any award cap.
  • Leaving the promotion: what cancelling, withdrawing or reaching expiry does to each separate balance.

ASA/CAP guidance treats material eligibility, deposit or wagering conditions, time limits and payment exclusions as potentially significant conditions. A headline should not be assessed only by following a small-print link after money has been committed. The full terms and the short offer description need to be read together.

No wagering removes the playthrough requirement it describes; it does not establish unconditional eligibility or cashability. Similarly, a promotional spin is not the same as a no-prize demo spin. Use the exact credit and payout terms rather than comparing two unlike headline numbers.

What if the reload reward is missing or cancelled?

Keep the offer name, terms version, activation confirmation, transaction reference, payment method, amounts and times. Ask which specific condition was not met and which balance has been affected. A missing credit, a rejected claim and a cancelled bonus are different issues and need different records.

If the operator says the reward expired, ask when the period began and what the expiry clause does to unused promotional funds or associated winnings. If it cites eligibility, ask which account or payment condition applied to this promotion. Do not assume an old generic bonus page proves the terms of a later personalised offer.

The cancelled-bonus guide explains evidence and complaints. Own funds should not be treated as automatically forfeited because an award was cancelled. If a target is becoming a reason to spend more or chase a lost reward, stop: progress towards a promotion does not make a further wager risk-free.

Is a reload bonus the same as a second-deposit bonus?

Sometimes a second-deposit reward is part of the original welcome package. A separate reload has its own eligibility and terms. Read the offer identity rather than treating every later deposit as automatically rewarded.

Does every existing casino customer receive reload offers?

No universal entitlement follows from having an account. A returning-player promotion may be selected, time-limited or require activation and other conditions. A public example does not establish availability in a particular account.

What does a 50% match capped at £15 mean on a £40 deposit?

Under those invented terms, 50% of £40 is £20, then the £15 cap limits the award to £15 restricted bonus credit. The deposit and award remain separate; this is not an available offer or £15 cash profit.

Is an 8x target on a £15 bonus £120 in deposits?

No. In the stated bonus-only illustration it is £120 of qualifying stakes. Deposits, turnover, game returns and the amount eventually withdrawable are different measures. Completing wagering is not guaranteed.

Can accepting a reload lock my own deposit behind bonus wagering?

UKGC guidance protects withdrawal of remaining own-deposit funds and own-money winnings without completing bonus wagering, subject to general regulatory obligations. Separate balances and applicable withdrawal checks still matter.

Can another deposit fix a missing reload bonus?

It does not establish entitlement to the earlier reward. Preserve the offer and transaction evidence, ask which condition failed, and use the operator’s complaint process if needed. Do not add money merely to try to repair an unclear promotion.
