Do you need a payline or a connected cluster?
Pragmatic Play describes six reels with matching symbols paying anywhere on the screen. Its original-game overview starts ordinary wins at eight matching symbols. A connected group or conventional left-to-right payline is not the condition described for those wins.
Winning symbols are removed and replacements can produce further wins during the same paid round. These tumbles explain why a displayed spin total can include several awards before the multiplier is applied.
| Term | What it means here |
|---|---|
| Symbol award | An eligible matching-symbol result under the paytable. |
| Tumble sequence | Successive result evaluations within that round. |
| Multiplier value | A factor with its own qualifying rule. |
| Paid stake | The complete accepted cost of the round. |
Our payline guide compares line, ways and other counting systems. The word “scatter pays” for ordinary matches should also be kept separate from the Zeus scatter’s bonus-trigger rule.
Are two multiplier orbs added or multiplied?
BetVictor’s original-game description says their values are added at the end of the spin and the base-game multiplier resets before the next spin. Pragmatic Play confirms that multiplier symbols can appear during base-game spins and tumbles.
For an invented sequence, suppose eligible pre-multiplier tumble awards are 30p and 20p, while qualifying multiplier symbols have values 2× and 5×. Assume no other awards, extra costs or cap.
| Step | Arithmetic | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Add the eligible tumble awards | £0.30 + £0.20 | £0.50 |
| Add the qualifying multiplier values | 2 + 5 | 7× |
| Apply the combined factor once | £0.50 × 7 | £3.50 returned |
| Net on an illustrative 50p paid stake | £3.50 − £0.50 | £3 profit |
Multiplying 2 by 5 would use the wrong rule and produce a £5 return. Multiplying an amount that already includes the factor would apply it twice. Check whether the recorded win is a pre-multiplier award or the final credited amount.
A multiplier with no eligible win does not create a cash prize by itself. In this calculation, zero times seven is still zero. Conversely, a qualifying ordinary win without a multiplier is not automatically lost; its ordinary award remains a separate case.
How does the free-spin multiplier accumulate?
The supplier describes a running multiplier during the feature when multiplier symbols land on winning spins. BetVictor’s fuller public explanation makes the application condition explicit: a later win with no multiplier symbol receives its regular award, even while the feature meter retains a value.
That creates two separate checks: does this result increase the meter, and does this result qualify to use it? A stored number alone answers neither question for a later spin.
| Illustrative feature state | What happens under the cited model |
|---|---|
| Meter already 10×; winning spin has 2× and 4× | The new meter is 16× and applies to the eligible win. |
| Next winning spin has no new multiplier | The ordinary award is paid without applying that stored 16×. |
| A later qualifying win adds 3× and 5× | The retained 16× becomes 24×. |
The initial 10× here is an invented existing state, not a claim about the feature’s starting value. The feature total is not an amount of money, and it does not transfer to the next paid base-game round.
What would that sequence return in pounds?
Continue those invented states with eligible pre-multiplier awards of 50p, 40p and 25p. Assume these are three results inside an already-triggered feature, with no separate stakes charged for them.
| Result | Calculation | Return |
|---|---|---|
| First: new meter 16× | £0.50 × 16 | £8 |
| Second: no qualifying multiplier | Ordinary £0.40 only | £0.40 |
| Third: new meter 24× | £0.25 × 24 | £6 |
| Subtotal of these three results | £8 + £0.40 + £6 | £14.40 |
Applying 16× to the middle result would incorrectly turn its 40p into £6.40 under this model. The missing new multiplier is the relevant distinction; the stored meter has not disappeared.
The £14.40 is a subtotal, not the complete bonus or the whole round’s profit. Add any other settled game returns, then subtract the original accepted round cost once. Do not subtract a new paid stake for each included feature spin.
How do the scatter trigger and retrigger differ?
Pragmatic Play’s original overview gives fifteen free spins for four or more scatters. BetVictor’s detailed description gives five additional free spins for a three-scatter retrigger during that feature. A base-game trigger and an in-feature retrigger use different conditions.
A scatter cash award is another category. Do not automatically include it in the ordinary matching-symbol total being multiplied, or multiply a number of free spins as though it were a pound amount. Use the exact game help to identify the relevant settlement.
The scatter guide explains the distinction between a cash award and a feature trigger. Seeing the same symbol play both roles does not merge their units.
Is this also the rule for Gates of Olympus 1000 or 2500?
This guide concerns the original named game. Pragmatic Play separately describes Gates of Olympus 1000 with multiplier symbols up to 1,000×; the original overview describes up to 500×. A shared theme does not make the releases interchangeable.
A global product page may also show options absent from a GB implementation. Do not treat an international bonus-buy instruction or demonstration as proof of a permitted option in your casino. Our bonus-buy guide covers that separate GB question.
The original multiplier mechanic cannot, by itself, supply the RTP, frequency or maximum return of another release. Preserve the full title and selected mode when comparing rules.
What should you check before relying on a published explanation?
BetVictor had a public GB listing for the original Gates of Olympus on 1 November 2026. UKGC account 39576 showed BV Gaming Limited with Active Remote Casino permission and betvictor.com labelled Active. This is a public listing check, not a tested account configuration.
- Identify the original title rather than a similarly named sequel.
- Read the accepted total price, ordinary award units and current return information.
- For a disputed round, keep the pre-multiplier tumble total, qualifying symbols, feature meter and final credit.
- Ask the operator to explain an unresolved difference against the exact game help.
Public summaries can omit an application condition. A screenshot of a large stored value without the relevant result and newly landed symbols is not enough to prove the wrong payout.

Do 2× and 5× make 7× or 10× in Gates of Olympus?
For the original-game model described here, qualifying multiplier values add to 7×. They are not multiplied together.
Why did my saved free-spin multiplier not multiply a win?
The cited model requires a new multiplier symbol on that winning spin for the retained feature multiplier to apply. A win without it receives the ordinary award. Check the exact result and current rules.
Does a multiplier without a symbol win pay by itself?
The multiplier is a factor on an eligible award. It does not independently turn a zero ordinary win into a cash prize.
Does the multiplier carry into the next paid spin?
The base-game description resets it for the next spin. The running feature total belongs to that free-spin round, not a later paid base-game round.
Does Gates of Olympus need adjacent matching symbols?
The original supplier description pays matching ordinary symbols anywhere on the screen, subject to the required count. It does not use a connected-cluster or payline condition for those matches.
