Which parts of the roulette wheel do you see?
The numbered rotor turns inside the wheel’s surrounding bowl. The ball initially travels around the track before dropping towards the pockets. Ball stops or deflectors and the pocket separators are parts of the apparatus; they are not betting areas on the screen. Manufacturers use different designs, materials and component names.
| Part or display | What to distinguish |
|---|---|
| Rotor and numbered pockets | The rotating part and the final place where the ball rests |
| Ball track and bowl | The ball’s path and surrounding physical structure |
| Ball stops / deflectors and separators | Physical components, not a forecast or a bet selection |
| Betting grid or racetrack | Where a wager is specified; not the same arrangement as the physical bowl |
| Result display and account history | Records of a round, its outcome and the customer’s accepted wagers |
For example, Cammegh’s Mercury 360 description identifies a ball track, rotor options and in-rim result sensors. TCSJOHNHUXLEY’s public configurator labels the bowl, ball stops, track and separator ring separately. Those references explain named equipment; they do not identify the hardware behind every online table.
The wheel-order guide gives the conventional numbered sequence and colours. The beginner guide explains the betting layout, so this page can focus on how a physical round becomes a recorded result.
Does an automatic roulette wheel use an RNG instead of a ball?
Automatic describes how a process runs; it does not by itself identify what produces the outcome. A physical wheel can use an automated launcher. An RNG game can also show a detailed animated wheel. The two can look similar on a small screen.
| Published example checked 30 October 2026 | What the public source establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| PokerStars UK live-roulette help | Distinguishes live croupier and Auto/Slingshot tables with automatic ball launch | Personal availability or the exact hardware of an individual round |
| Evolution Auto Roulette | A fully automated physical live wheel without a live dealer | That every automatic table has the same launch mechanism, timing or rules |
| Evolution First Person Roulette | An RNG-based game presented through a 3D animated table | A physical ball result merely because the animation looks realistic |
A connected start button is also different from a button choosing the winning pocket. TCSJOHNHUXLEY’s Velocity operation-mode FAQ describes remote devices starting a spin and an automatic mode scheduling spins. This is a named manufacturer description from its US-region site, not a claim about which equipment a GB operator currently deploys.
This guide has not opened a game, watched a test stream or inspected a studio. A product page, supplier licence or public catalogue is not proof that a specific account can access a particular table. The live-casino guide explains the wider difference between live and software-generated games.
How does a pocket result become a settled bet?
- The game must establish the physical round and whether it is valid under that table’s procedure.
- The system or staff recognise and confirm the result for that round.
- Accepted wagers are matched to the result and applicable paytable.
- The account record shows the debit, settlement and any adjustment.
Those checks answer different questions. A winning-number sensor recognises an outcome; its presence does not establish that the outcome was selected by that sensor. A number in a history strip also does not prove which stake the operator accepted from a particular customer.
The Mercury 360 page, for example, describes four in-rim sensors and result output to displays and analysis tools. Velocity describes a different equipment configuration. Neither sensor count nor a camera angle can be assumed universal.
Keep a table name and round identifier with the record. A replay from one table, a delay in a stream and an account entry from another round cannot be joined merely because a visible number matches. Ask for the accepted wager and result associated with the same round.
An ordinary conventional paytable is also not the only possible contract. A multiplier variant can combine physical wheel results with a separate feature. The Lightning Roulette guide explains that named example; do not infer every payout from the wheel image alone.
How is a valid spin different from an interrupted video?
A table’s documented procedure can define a valid physical spin and what happens after an irregularity. There is no minimum-revolution count established here for all GB live tables. Do not turn a count copied from another casino into a universal rule.
As a clearly foreign educational example, Crown Perth’s Australian rules, updated 18 May 2026, require opposite ball/wheel directions and at least four track revolutions. They identify no-spin situations such as the ball leaving the wheel or failing to enter a pocket, then provide for a re-spin. These are that document’s rules, not current GB help or an automatic-refund promise.
A video freezing on your device is a separate event. It does not establish that the physical ball stopped, the studio cancelled the round, or the operator failed to receive a wager. UKGC interruption guidance distinguishes the stage reached, whether the operator received the gamble and whether further customer influence remains; multiplayer events need fair treatment on the facts.
| What you observed | What still needs establishing |
|---|---|
| Video or animation froze | Whether the round continued and what its accepted-wager record shows |
| A no-spin announcement or cancellation | Which rule applied and how stakes or the re-spin were treated |
| Result visible, balance unclear | Which accepted stake, paytable and settlement belong to that round |
| Chip selected but no clear acceptance | Whether any wager was recorded or cash deducted |
Do not make another wager to test whether the old round finished. Preserve the record and ask the operator about that specific event. Identify the accepted stake, result and any credit or adjustment without assuming that a screen interruption has a known settlement.
What does the account record need to show?
Take three independent fictional ledger cases. Each starts with one accepted £2 cash stake. The first two assume an ordinary even-money wager at 1:1; the third separately assumes a confirmed cancellation that returns the full stake. No side bets, fees or promotional money are included.
| Assumed recorded settlement | Stake | Total returned, including any returned stake | Net result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Winning ordinary 1:1 wager | £2 | £4 | +£2 |
| Losing ordinary wager | £2 | £0 | −£2 |
| Separately confirmed cancellation with full stake return | £2 | £2 | £0 |
For the winning case, £2 profit plus £2 stake gives £4 total returned. A returned £2 cancelled stake is not £2 profit. A missing or delayed screen update is not a fourth settlement category with a known cash result; the record still needs to be checked.
The cancellation row is an explicit assumption, not the outcome of every disconnection or no-spin event. A re-spin, an unchanged accepted wager and a refund are different possible procedural questions. The exact rules and transaction history must establish which occurred.
If the dispute concerns an identified unpaid amount rather than how the wheel works, use the unpaid-casino guide. A screenshot can support the explanation, but keep passwords, full payment details and identity documents out of public posts.
Do sensors, speed changes or a history strip prove fairness?
They do not establish every relevant fact about a particular round. UKGC’s live-studio standard requires fair, independently auditable operations, with guidance covering equipment, training, supervision, surveillance, access and logs. Reading that standard does not mean HowToCasino audited the studio or its equipment.
Physical equipment also needs maintenance and monitoring. The regulator discusses equipment integrity and longer-run result measurements. Cammegh’s separate Mercury 360 RRS description says its system varies rotor deceleration between games. A speed change is therefore not, by itself, proof that someone selected a particular winning pocket; nor does a normal-looking spin prove all controls were followed.
A short history, a bounce or a familiar dealer does not supply a verified prediction method. This article does not infer the next pocket from a video, recommend tracking software or provide a ball-launching technique. The results-history guide explains why a descriptive run is different from a forecast.
- Identify the exact game, supplier, table and rule version.
- Separate the physical or RNG result from result recognition and account settlement.
- Keep the round identifier, time, accepted stake and relevant debit/credit entries.
- For a disputed event, ask which procedure and result were applied to that round.
For broader questions about evidence and regulation, the roulette-fairness guide covers those checks. You can read public rules and preserve an existing record without depositing again or continuing to play.

Who spins the ball in live roulette?
A dealer-led table uses a croupier, while an automatic live wheel can launch the ball mechanically without a live dealer. Check the exact table: automatic launch and software-generated outcome are different concepts.
Does a realistic roulette animation prove there is a real wheel?
No. Evolution’s First Person Roulette is a named RNG-based example with a 3D animated environment. The exact title and help establish the mechanism; visual realism alone does not.
Does a winning-number sensor choose the result?
The cited Mercury 360 description identifies sensors for recognising and outputting the result. Their presence alone does not establish that they choose a winning pocket or prove the integrity of an individual table.
Must every roulette ball make four revolutions?
No universal GB count is established here. Four revolutions is the cited Crown Perth Australian rule, used only as an identified educational example. Use the exact table’s current procedure.
Does a frozen live-roulette video cancel my wager?
Not automatically. Establish whether the operator received the wager, whether the round continued and what its rules and records show. A device’s video interruption does not itself prove an invalid physical spin or refund entitlement.
Is a £2 stake return a £2 profit?
No. In the fictional cancellation example, £2 returned minus the £2 stake gives £0 net. At an assumed winning 1:1 price, a £2 stake instead returns £4 total and £2 profit.
